Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect
When you use JobRadar, we collect:
- Account information — your name, email address, and profile picture from Google Sign-In.
- Resume content — the PDF file you upload and the text extracted from it, used to match you to jobs and to fill out application forms on your behalf.
- LinkedIn profile data — your name, headline, and email if you choose to connect LinkedIn.
- Application profile — fields you provide for filling out job applications: phone, address, work authorization status, salary expectations, links (LinkedIn URL, GitHub, portfolio), and optional self-identification fields described in Section 2.
- Job match history — the results of your scans (job titles, companies, scores) and applications you have started.
- Usage data — when you run scans, when you start applications, and basic interaction logs for debugging.
2. Sensitive Personal Information
Some job application forms request voluntary self-identification information for EEOC reporting: race/ethnicity, gender, veteran status, and disability status. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and similar laws, these are classified as Sensitive Personal Information.
If you choose to provide any of these in your JobRadar application profile:
- They are entirely optional. You may leave them blank, select "Prefer not to say", or change them at any time, with no impact on any other JobRadar functionality.
- They are stored solely so they are available when an application form requests them.
- They are never used to score job matches, train AI models, used for advertising, sold, or shared with anyone other than the employer at the moment you choose to submit an application that requests them.
- You can delete them individually or together at any time from the application profile page.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data exclusively to provide the JobRadar service:
- Your resume text is sent to the Anthropic Claude API to extract your skills and score job matches. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train models; they may retain inputs briefly for Trust & Safety review per their privacy policy.
- When you start an application from your dashboard, your resume PDF and application profile fields are loaded into a temporary cloud browser session (operated by Browserbase) to fill out the employer's application form. You review the filled form and click Submit yourself — JobRadar never submits applications on your behalf.
- We send you emails necessary for the service: account approval, daily digest notifications, and notifications when your application is ready for review or submitted.
- We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
- We do not use your data for advertising.
4. When We Share Your Data
Your data is only transmitted outside of JobRadar in the following cases:
- To our sub-processors, listed in Section 5, who help us deliver the service (hosting, AI scoring, email delivery, cloud browser sessions).
- To job application form operators (e.g., Greenhouse, Lever, Workday) and the employers using them — when JobRadar fills out an application on your behalf, your data (resume, contact info, application profile answers) is entered into the form. Some application platforms auto-save partial data during fill; all entered data is transmitted to the employer when you click Submit. Once submitted, the employer receives and handles your data under their own privacy policy.
- When required by law, including in response to a valid subpoena or court order.
5. Sub-processors and Third-Party Services
JobRadar relies on the following providers to operate:
- Google OAuth — sign-in. We receive your name, email, and profile picture. Governed by Google's privacy policy.
- LinkedIn OAuth — optional profile enrichment. We receive only your name, headline, and email. Governed by LinkedIn's privacy policy.
- Anthropic — AI-powered resume parsing and job-match scoring (via the Claude API).
- Browserbase — cloud browser sessions used to fill out application forms with your data. Sessions are short-lived and torn down after each fill.
- Resend — outbound email delivery (digest notifications, application-ready alerts).
- Railway — hosts our backend application and database.
- Vercel — hosts our frontend website.
6. Data Storage and Retention
Your account data, resume content, application profile, and job match history are stored in our database hosted by Railway. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by the database provider.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you request deletion of your account:
- Account data, resume content, application profile, and job match history are deleted from our active database within 7 days of your request.
- Residual copies in encrypted backups are deleted within 30 days as backup retention windows roll over.
- Application data already submitted to employers cannot be recalled from those employers — they hold their own copy under their own privacy policy.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Disconnect LinkedIn, remove your resume, or delete any field of your application profile at any time from Settings.
- Opt out of any non-essential email by replying to that email.
If you are a California or EU resident, you may have additional rights under the CCPA, GDPR, or other applicable laws. To exercise any right, contact us (Section 9).
8. Age Requirement and Security
JobRadar is intended for users aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
We follow standard security practices including TLS-encrypted connections, access-restricted credentials, and authentication on every API request. No service can guarantee absolute security; if we discover a security incident materially affecting your data, we will notify affected users by email within 72 hours of confirming the incident.
9. Contact

10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves or as required by law. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify active users by email.
